The counter to global warming

Hell is freezing over: The Milwaukee Brewers are 6-2. Democrats are the ones getting charged with racism and sexism. Liberals and conservatives seem to be agreeing on something, namely, China.

Do you see any similar unlikely events that may portend apocalypse?

“Democrats are the ones getting charged with racism and sexism.”

Perhaps Senator Clinton will make a speech about how her grand-father believed that a woman’s place is in the home, but she nevertheless refuses to “disown” him.

It seems the Democrats will have a vocal Christian candidate who believes that the Bible motivates him to care for those in need by his politics, and the Republicans have a quiet and “I don’t like to talk about it” Christian as their candidate.

I blame postmodernism.

Gene Edward Veith enjoys Dolly Parton and Bob Dylan. :-) :-)

I’m pretty certain this will result in someone thinking (if not replying) that I should ease up and get a sense of humor, but the person who thinks that also probably thinks that liberals don’t have senses of humor, so thus freed momentarily by potential cognitive dissonance, I’ll ask …

Should we as Christians really make light of Hell and the apocalypse? I know many of us do, but I get the feeling we picked that up from our culture, not that it in any way reflects Biblical teaching.

I mean, we get upset when non-Christians trivialize our doctrines and turn them into cartoonish, silly things (cf. a red, cloven-hoofed Satan with a pitchfork), so why do we do the same things? Is it because “well, we all know what Hell and the apocalypse are really like — we didn’t mean that”?

And if so, should we be so duplicitous? Doesn’t it seem like trivializing our beliefs to those who don’t know what we mean?

I just heard that Ted Turner teamed up with Lutheran World Relief and a Methodist organization in a $200 Million partnership to fight malaria.

I thought for sure the apocalypse was nigh when the Republicans gained control over the House of Representatives in 1992. I guess it’s really true that no man knoweth the hour of His coming.

Republicans are voting for a Clinton.

A couple years ago Macs switched to Intel.

Sonic and Mario appear together in not one, but two video games.. something that was unthinkable to video gamers fifteen years ago.

The Democrats always were the party of slavery and corruption. Nothing new there.

The GOP started life as the pro-life, abolitionist party when the Whigs refused to take a stand (kind of like the GOP today)

I’m not aware of any Christian as a leading candidate for the two largest political parties. For BHO, “no murderer has eternal life in him” which also applies to She-Who-Cannot-Be-Named. McCain reportedly strongly dislikes conservative Christians.

Muslims are converting by the hundreds of thousands, according to one of your earlier posts.
